Calgary film crew had a hand in direwolf scene from Sunday night’s Game of Thrones

Sunday night’s episode wasn’t the first time the Calgary Film Centre crew has helped out the massive production with wolf scenes — crew members were also involved in four previous seasons.

“Most people don’t know that, but we’ve always kept it quite quiet through respect to the show itself,” Ambury said.

Located about 25 minutes away from Calgary International Airport, the film centre is a world-class facility with 50,000 square feet of purpose-built studios and 25,000 square feet of multi-purpose warehouse and workshop spaces.

The first project the film centre ever took on — before it was even officially opened — was the filming of wolf scenes for Game of Thrones.
